Hi I am new to the site, I have a 2008 bare bones ls 2.2 cobalt. I have searched the how to's on fuel filter replacement and everybody says its located under the passenger rear by the rear suspension. I have looked everywhere under the car and there is no visible fuel filter, has anybody changed one out on an 08' is there even an external filter on an 08' I cant seem to find this info anywhere on the web

Mine's by that black "box" right near the center of the picture.

You don't happen to have a Cali car, do you? Those don't have replaceable filters...

Yea the fuel filter is in the same place on all Cobalts. Me and a buddy replaced both of ours this weekend. Its only a 15 min job tops and you need a special tool to get the fuel line out of the filter.

No. You have to pull the tank to change it.
