Hi I am new to the site, I have a 2008 bare bones ls 2.2 cobalt. I have searched the how to's on fuel filter replacement and everybody says its located under the passenger rear by the rear suspension. I have looked everywhere under the car and there is no visible fuel filter, has anybody changed one out on an 08' is there even an external filter on an 08' I cant seem to find this info anywhere on the web
Yea the fuel filter is in the same place on all Cobalts. Me and a buddy replaced both of ours this weekend. Its only a 15 min job tops and you need a special tool to get the fuel line out of the filter.

BUMP on this one. I am getting ready to change my fuel filter, are the ones you can buy at Autozone or O'Reilly's any different than the GM one. I really do not want to spend $85.00 for the GM filter.
Hate to bump an old thread, but I'm having a hell of a time finding my fuel filter. 2008 LT--bought one at autozone, followed the fuel lines but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!--Thanks in advance
2.2 engine? Yours is in the sending unit..........
