Exclamation Why Does It Do This

i have a manual 2005 cobalt coupe base model. which is properly maintenced .
and has a 62k
on the crankcase/valve cover after the car get turn off it make like puff (air noise release noise) noise which is the sound that appears 8 seconds into the video.
also ive notice my breather filter gets more oily than other cars. like a couple drops of oil will drips out slowly sometimes when when i get on it(like accelerate or drive kinda quick. it not a lot of oil it just concerns me. i asked a neighbor who is a mechanic and does alot of working on car just in his driveway and he says it is maybe my piston rings that are allowing blow by gasses to get through. from beating on it or over revving he says..

i've only had this happen on cars with PCV valves. our cars do not have a valve, just a vent. is your a/c running while you do this? you also might want to consider changing your timing chain tensioner i hear a lot of rattle. blowby would not cause this, because the motor is stopped. windage is only created while the motor is turning. a puff of air that big would be pretty obvious and would shoot a nice puff of smoke from the breather. if there were that much pressure built up in the crank case, your dipstick would fly out.

i dont like ever use the a/c i love open windows . thats what that is i thought maybe it my lifters or injectors makin the rattle noise or maybe my phone cuz i jus had it chillen on the fender lol

somebody else told me maybe pcv valve too. not knowing ours dont have one. i jus hope its not anything major.
like people are like your engine jus Queeffed lol

i would imagine it's some sort of valve. only other thing i can think of is the evap. though the purge solenoid closes when the car shuts off. if i could get under the hood i could pinpoint the sound and tell you in a second lol. as far as the timing chain, just listen next to that engine mount on the passenger side. your timing chain is on that end of the motor. it'll be louder when the motor is cold.

btw i forgot to add tho when the engine is running you can see some smoke come out the breather.

open the oil cap while it's running. if there's a good amount of smoke coming out then your rings are indeed worn. could also be valve seals but unlikely, and you would notice blue smoke out the exhaust. i have a breather filter as well, and i've never seen any smoke out of it.

my breather was blue 3 weeks ago now brown and wet oily lookin smoke does puff out of the breather cause my hid headlights illumminate it a lil. and i opened the oil cap no smoke but i put my hand over and can feel air flowing out.

Positive airflow is good. Smoke is not. If there's smoke there's bad rings

no smoke out the oil cap when i open it while car is running and no smoke out the tail pipe.
im gonna have my old autos teacher check it out. im getting some new tranny fluid put in and the ohter day i got a coolent flush i maintain the car well but i guess i do like to accelerate hard alot. and i hope its not the rings. i really wanna turbo it.
