Rattling Noise at Startup from Exhaust.

My exhaust has been making an awful rattling noise at cold startup for awhile now. It calms down when the car warms up and you can't hear it while the car is driving...only when it starts up. It sounds like its coming from the downpipe. I'm running a catted zzp 2.5 downpipe with mid length header for over a year. I heard the this setup could rub against the heatshield. Anybody have any similar issues with this setup?

More than likely the heatshield. Do you have a stock exhaust manifold on? Get under the car and check for anything loose/rubbing when the car is started.

Nope, I'm using a 2.5 mid length header from zzp as well. The whole exhaust is aftermarket.

I'm taking the car to a shop to have a new Magnaflow resonator welded on next week, so I'll mention it. Hopefully it ain't too serious.

Well when you did the exhaust swap, did you reinstall the heat shields around the manifold? If so, thats probably what the rattle is.

A shop installed the exhaust for me so I'm not sure. They probably didn't cause it's rattles...
