Black Sludge in Exhaust?? Help!

ok so here recently ive noticed ive been getting real crappy gas mileage. ive traveled about 100 miles in the past 2 days and it burned 1/2 a tank.

today at 10:40 i turned my car on after work and it threw a CEL. i drive it home, notice nothing different with the way its driving except it idles at 900-1k when it usually idles at about 6-7.

i get home pop the hood check the oil, air filter and coolent. every thing is fine. walk around to the back of my car and notice the inside of my tip is COMPLETELY black with sludge.

whats causing all this?
