New Injectors After Less Than 35,000 Miles???? REALLY??????

I have an 06 Cobalt. It DOES fall under the fuel injector recall, but I'm being told by Chevy that it was done at 29,650 miles back in March of 2007 (I bought the car in June of 07 at 29,884 miles). I JUST turned 64,000 miles on her yesterday.

I've been fighting my car since November. Turns out that the throttle body was bad and that the fuel injectors now need replaced. I had 2 problems going on at the same time, both of which had the similar symptoms. My mechanic has done all the troubleshooting he can and now it's time for fuel injectors.

My issue with this is that I'm having to change the injectors again after less than 35,000 miles! This just sounds a little outrageous to me. Any 06 owners out there having this problem again?

My husband and I are starting to think that the recall was never even done on this car. I can't go into too many details here, but I'll just say that it's not adding up, and we're thinking that the dealership that "performed" the recall just said that they did because they were getting ready to sell it at auction. (The dealer I bought it from purchased it at auction from the dealer that had it before and performed the recall.) Of course, GM only guarantees it's recall work for 12 mos. or 12,000 miles!

I understand that maybe there are injectors out there that were put in that were just junk, but what I don't understand is why I'm having this problem so soon! I have a friend who has an 06 Balt LT (same as mine, other than color) who had the recall done herself. She has 80 some thousand miles on hers and hasn't had any problems with them whatsoever. Why are mine lasting less than 35,000 miles?!?!

*ADD*
I'm having such a hard time swallowing this because other than a couple of longer trips to Indianapolis (from NW Ohio) and one trip to Gatlinburg, TN, my avg. miles per day is less than 20! I'm not hard on her at all, and she really is a good car. This is the newest car I've ever bought, and it's actually the first one I've really taken care of. I've loved the balts since they first came out, and she is definitely my baby!

I suggest having them check the injectors to make sure that they were the ones that were supposed to be used in the recall... It is either possible that the dealer that did it either didn't do the job, or didn't use the correct injectors.

Something my mechanic can do, or something I have to take to the dealership? I'm trying to avoid the dealership in my area if at all possible. Know too many people who have had probs with their service dept. Nearest other one is about an hour away.
