Unhappy Horrible Gas Mileage

whats up guys im new here sop whats up yall
so on monday 3/28/11 i got a chevy colbalt 2009 with 35g miles on it for 10g

ok the next day i filled up the gas and went home ok, 2 days later my gas is over the half tank sign!!!! i put 213 miles on it. here to work and back (for 2 days) i did the math and found out that im roughly getting 16 mpg
so im all like WTH!!!! 16!!!
any ideas ( should i take it back to the dealer and see whats up or something)
cuz im atleast supposed to get 25 city and 30+ on highway......
or did i get the math wrong ...

The Cobalt only has a 13 gallon tank. 213 miles on 1/2 a tank means 213 miles on roughly 6.5 gallons.

213 / 6.5 = 32.77 mpg.

You did the math wrong. 213 miles on 1/2 tank is good. I usually get from 29 to 34 mpg on mine.

I'm getting about 26.5 mpg from my 2.4L

Yea, tho I cruise through the valley of the shadow of rice, I will fear no Turbo,
for Torque art with me. Thy rods and crankshaft, they comfort me.

thanks guys cuz to be honest this is my first "car"
by that i mean i had a truck before and i only filled that once a week ( of course the tank is bigger on my truck) so i was all like oh d*** its going out fast ( the gas on the cobalt ) but im slowly getting us to the gas pedal (since i did another 200 miles today and didnt get half a thank but alot less) YEAAAA
