Brake Shoes

Well im at about 64k and i just changed my front rotor pads since they were squeaking now that thats gone away the back are squeaking and i need new brake shoes anyone know how to install these? and what is a good brand to get o rileys says thier brakes best is good but im thinking wagner or centric.

That's not so many miles for having to replace the shoes.

Did you drive around with the e-brake on or something?

Have you pulled the drums to see what the shoes look like?

No but whenever I park I use the e brake and when my car was towed I'm pretty sure they dragged it with the e brake up so that could be why

Bummer....I've done shoes but it's been a while...like 25 years...

It's not too hard to do if you decide to DIY. And if you did the front pads, you can likely muddle through doing the shoes too.

You'll probably need a special spring tool. There's a heavy spring that keeps the two shoes together and in place.

Good luck...If you do it, I'd be interested in learing how it was done, what issues you ran into, etc...

Well I bought the shoes today but I'm going to have a shop put them on for me since I've never actually seen anyone do drum brakes lol but ill try to get pics of the steps
