Crank Position Sensor Replacement Question

My 2.2L 07 LS (manual trans) had slightly reduced power for about a week and this morning had trouble starting. The tach also did not work but I took it to work anyway. Same issue coming home and the check engine light came on. I had the code read at AutoZone - P0335. I see the crank position sensor but...can it be removed and replaced from above or must you take the starter out and replace from below? Is it a simple replacement or must something else be done (I read something about relearning?)

Do my symptoms sound correct for a bad sensor? Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Well I got it out from above without taking anything else out. Now to order a new one and see if it goes in without too much trouble. Hopefully it does and the car fires right up.
