64$ question

Ive been through it if you cant tell by my earlier post. Its come down to this. After the problems with the shifter and the key solenoid i took short cuts instead of fixing things rite because money was tight. Update security light is gone key relearn worked car wouldnt crank. While double checking things I found three wires and a plug coming off the solenoid under the steering column the one that releases the key. All three have power on them For some reason i cant seem to figure out when my tester is hooked to either of these the car will start every time Its just a cheap circuit tester that tests for power or ground. Anyone have a clue as to what to do now change shifter and solenoid? Also the car will not shift (auto) and ive never had any problems out of the shifter. Any suggestions would be more than appreciate. Thanks for your time Oh cel is on and display is showing power steering message
