Unhappy 2006 Cobalt Transmission or What?

RPM's go over 5000 when car is shifting into higher gear (auto tranny). Then with gas pedal all the way to the floor car is barely moving. Burning smell too. Only happens once in a while. Dealer can't recreate problem and there are no lights or codes.

Check around the transmission filter housing and see if there are any visible leaks. Also, if you can check the transmission fluid level, also. On my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LT 2.2 (automatic) I know that you have to have the car level and remove a bolt and see if fluid comes out. If fluid comes out it is full if not then it is low.
