Has This Happened to You?

Just wanting to know if this has happened to anyone else. Today while waiting for y kid to get out of school, I was parked but car was still running, I popped open the trunk and my DIC said "truck ajar" and then said "check gas cap" and then back to trunk then back to gas cap. I filled my car up 4 days ago and have less than 1/2 tank of gas. I thought it was weird so when I got home, I tried to recreated message but could not. No check engine light came on. It just acted normal.

I may be wrong but I think there was a recal on some models gas caps. Something for you to look into at least.

My guess is that the cap was not tight. I've had that happen on my GMC. Also the cap might need to be replaced. Good luck.

Might also need to clean where cap seats on fillerneck. Also check rubber seal on cap for cracks or even splits.

If you like, I’m available to look into recall/warranty information on your vehicle for you. Please private message me the last 8 of your VIN and I’d be happy to help!
