Exclamation Rear!!!

replacing the rear drums on my cousins 05 cobalt, got everything figured out BUT putting that giant U shaped retaining spring on is prooving impossible, ive already chucked my pry bar across the yard twice, any advice as to how to get the retaining spring in its little holder down at the bottom, i have it in the shoes i just need to get it its retainer at the bottom

Yes, that is a tricky one. Screw adjuster in as far as it goes then, even though there is special tool design for this I've always managed with a big flat blade screwdriver. Insert the loop on the shank, place the blade opposite side of the post and then just push on handle.

Don't forget to lubricate backplate!!!
