Jerking/Jumping

Ok so I checked out the other post, but doesn't ever really answer the problem. This Jerking/jumping started the other day vary lightly, then today I'm in first gear hit the gas RPM's hit 2k and the jerking starts so I sift up to 2nd and it continues, it finally smooths out I drive it for about 12 miles. I stop turn it off come back 5 mins later start it back up. Same thing happens but this time it completely stalls out. The jerking/jumping seems to happen a few times then it smooths out and the car drives normal. Took it to a local shop because the Check Engine light came on, but he cant pull the code cause there is a hi performance ecm in it or something, (just bought this car a week ago) So i am lost. I took apart the Injen CAI and dried every inch of it cause the guy thought it might be possible that water got on the MAF because of where it sits. Disconnected the batt, put it all back together and now a real have smell of un burned fuel is coming out the pipe when I WOT quickly. I am totally lost on this. and other ideas what it could be?

Thx in advance everyone,

Even with aftermarket ECM you should still be able to read the codes. My guess, it is something to do with your MAF. Is the air filter a dry or oil type filter?

well the HP ECM is tuned, when the guy even connects the code reader up to it, the car wont start for a few mins after. the reader just says comm err. Took it out today and all is well, I think it was truely the MAF had gotten wet from all the rain/tornado we had yesterday down here in south GA...lol.. It is a dry filter by the way.. I am thinking th water ran down the crack of the hood and into the hole the injen sits in. I need to get something to seal that thing up or find a way to redirect the water.. Everything is good though I just hope there wasnt a lot of water that got sucked in to the SC to screw it up..

Thx for the thoughts though!

You could get a sheild for you filter, it's not 100% but it will divert a lot of water away from membrane. Like this one....
