TCM Replacement

I'm thinking about changing my TCM since it is consistently setting P0700 code. I can replace the TCM for less than the shop charges to do any diagnostics. Does anyone know if the replacement TCM will have to be programmed for my cobalt? If it came off a cobalt of the same year with the same engine will it work without reprogramming? 2007 LS, 2.2L AT

I dont know for sure but if you have to have your radio reprogrammed when you install a stock one from the same model/ year I would assume the same is for your TCM
