Check Engine

my check engine came on, and my car is very hot, it went up to 207, and opened the hood to find there is no/low coolant in the tank, would this cause the engine light to come on?

207 is not very hot, Low coolant will set a CEL. Top up your coolant reservoir to full line when cold. Then keep an eye on it, coolant should not go down, if it does you have a leak somewhere.

Get it scanned, if you run your car with no AC, it will eventually get to 220, which is where the fans will come one and cool it into the 180-190 area.

You may not even have a coolant problem, your CEL could be on for many reasons, get it checked at autozone, for free.

From there we can see whats actually going on.
