Dtc p0103

Has anybody solve the (P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input ) when you know it's not your Mass Air Flow sensor that is bad. Actually there is a code but the car seems to work perfectly fine. Plus you can't clear the code, it just sits there and annoys my friend. He has a 2007 almost identical to mine.

What device/program did you use to scan the car?

I'm assuming Digimoto using ELM 327 cable as per previous discussions, I would also get weird codes using that program, even with CEL off. When using the ELM327 official app with the ELM 327 cable I never had codes I thought were wrongly displayed.

Actually, he just called me and to my surprise he had found the problem. The surprise was not that he found the problem but rather what was at fault. His car battery had a dead cell and voltage was low. Since MAF needs and 11 volt reference which it wasn't getting it set a hard code. No matter if we cleared the code it would come right back because battery had still a low voltage. Car started perfectly fine, never noticed the lights were dimmer because we never worked on it at night. I feel guilty because I always tell other people to check the battery first and, well, I screwed up. I should have checked the battery first. But I got so caught up in the f***in code that I was blind sighted.

Hmm, you screwed up, when???

Remember, Cars are not a "simple" technology. When you compare an MT to an AT and see all the components required to just shift from one gear to another automatically, its easy to miss something anywhere, there any many parts, that MAF sensor is one of them.

So with all those pieces to look at, it would be un-realistic to check the battery, as weak batteries cause many issues way before setting trouble codes. I doubt the dealership would have even checked that 1st.

You should check for that code on their servers and see what their instructions are.

I did after the fact and it did not help me feel better. (1) was EXH fuse, (2) was check for weak battery.
