Seat Won't Move Back

My passenger seat will not move back. It is all the way forward, the lever is stuck in the up position. It will still recline though. Any tips before i start beating it with a hammer?

My first tip is don't beat it with a hammer.

This happened to my passenger side seat.
To get the seat forward try to grab both sides of the bar at the same time.
Pull out the seat by removing the two 15mm bolts from the back of the track.
Turn the seat over and you will see a thick wire that acts as a spring on each track.
This is what locks the seat in a position on the seat track.
On my car the wire had popped out on one end and I put it back together.
Seems to be working fine now....
