Small Oil Leak, Bad?

saw this today... i had cleaned the area yesterday and after running my car hot at about 4k rpm max, i checked and did not see any oil... after today at about 6k rpm max, i noticed a fresh little bit... my question is if this is common, indicates engine failure, or is a simple fix such as tighening that bolt or replacing the rubber ring below it, if possible? the engine is still under warranty but i would like to avoid taking to the dealership as i feel they are very unprofessional and amateurish... but if i have to i will. i have not noticed any decrease in power, bad sounds, or smoke... there are no other oily areas or leaks, just this little bit, and it does not burn or lose any measurable amount of oil...

If you are under warrenty you nee to take it in. If anything else goes wrong or you start getting a knock the dealership will blame it on whatever you or another mechanic replaced. I would think its the head gasket but that is a very odd place for oil to be pooling IMO.

Yeah at the preasure it is plausable. Make sure you go in though, even though they suck you dont want to be blamed for anything.

The valve cover casting might have a hairline crack.

Changing the valve cover gasket won't help. If you don't want to void the remaining warranty, I would bring it in, never know you might fall on a good mechanic.
