Electric Issues

I have a 2006 cobalt ss/sc and it won't start. when I try to start it, it clicks once. the AC, dash lights, horn, trunk light, headlights work. turn signals, rear view mirror lights, radio, windows, locks, power steering (based on message on the dash), and obviously starter, don't work. just wondering if anyones been through this or has a fix that'll save me a few bucks and a tow to the nearest auto electrician.

Obvious question, did you try a new battery?

put a brand new battery in about an hour ago. was planning on checking the fuses tomorrow, but it seems like too many things aren't working to be fuses.

Normal if at idle or low engine RPM. But if it does this at cruising speed it might be a sign of bad connections or a failing alternator.
