Bad TPM

Has anybody ever replaced a bad sensor on the tire pressure monitoring system? Is it something you can do yourself or is is better to take it in?

I just found an e-how on-line. Not something I could do. Discount Tire told me they were half the price of the dealer so I guess I'll be going there.

I've been riding around for two years with no sensors all I did was put a sticker over where the light is so it didn't blind me at night when its on

They take a special tourque wrench for the nut that fastens the sensor to the rim. Other than that you can do it yourself if the tire is already off. I've installed probably 50 of them and none has taken longer than 3 mins with the tire already off. If the tire is still on the rim do what the others have said and just go to a tire shop, much easier in this case

Why wouldn't you just get some or have then switched from the stock wheels to whatever wheels you have?

The one set of wheels I had for about ten yrs and the place I got tires out on said they wouldn't go on and plus I use them in the snow so I'd rather know what air pressure I got in the winter and now I just got new rims and haven't ordered them yet
