A/C Not Working
Okay, I have a 2005 Cobalt LT. A couple of weeks ago my A/C wasn't blowing near as cold as it used to. So I go get on of these DIY recharge systems and follow the directions and charge my A/C system to ~45-50. Then after that the system just blew hot air. I take it to the mechanic and he finds nothing wrong with it and it was blowing cold as ice for him. The A/C worked that day then went out again the next. I realized that the compressor sounded like it was trying to turn on every 10 seconds or so, but never did. I take it back to the mechanic and he keeps it for a couple of days. He said the only thing he could find was that the idle went drastically low when at a stop or lifting off of the brake and this caused it to go into a safe mode which turned off the
A/C compressor. He ran every diagnostic test on my car and nothing at all came up. He said he fixed that problem, I asked what he did and he said he would tell me later and that it was top secret, which I thought was weird. Thankfully he did all of this at no charge. The car runs MUCH better now than before, but the A/C is still not working. Does anybody have a clue as to what may be wrong? He also said that the compressor was not overfilled which I thought may have been the problem. Thanks to anyone with any ideas.
