Had to Jump Start the Car This Morning

Ok so my wife went to get in the car this morning to go to work and then can back inside and said that the car won't start no lights came on no dings, nothing. We went out side and got it jump started but now the check engine light is on and she said the car wasn't up sifting.
Would a dead battery cause the car to act weird like this? As of yesterday when she got home she said the car was running and starting just fine. No signs of anything acting weird. It is an 08 2.2.
Thanks for any tips or info.

Not that I am aware of, if the light is still on she should go to the closest auto parts store and have the code read right away.

You might have a bad battery cell and battery voltage is low. All sensors depend on a preset voltage. Check battery voltage before anything. If TCM is not getting proper sensor range transmission will shift very erratically.

It makes sense the battery is 4 years old and we do live in it Texas and it has been 100degs for the last 25 days. But why they check engine light? O and the tpms readings were a bunch of dashes. We will have to investage after we both get off work.

If MAF sensor doesn't get an 11 volt reference after 20 seconds that the engine is running it will set a P0100 code.

I think we should go back to the 60's when cars were much simpler. And they had none of this electronic stuff :P

That electronic stuff makes slow tight corners much easier than anyone else I compete with, I love it (electric power steering that is)!!!

Hopefully you're able to find some answers after you and your wife are off work this afternoon. If you would like for me to look into anything (warranty/recall information, help in working w/ a dealership), please don't hesitate to send me a private message with the last 8 digits of your VIN and contact information.

Ok checked out the battery and charging system all checks good. As far as the check engine light I hate this part but I did it I went to auto zone. And there was 32 codes I guess that means it needs to be drivin? But it's not shifting out of first gear. The guy at the parts store thinks its the computer. Any thoughts?

Something must have killed the battery. Hard to investigate from here. 32 codes Hummmm.....Time to bring it to a knowledgeable Chevy mechanic.
