Need Advice with Cobalt SS Blow-by!!
Hey guys,
Got a new problem with my SS supercharged.
So i recently traded in my LS for an 07 SS supercharged.
Well it was tuned poorly from the dealer for some reason.
So i got an HP tune done on it, keeping stock timing. Also did 2.9" pulley and 60 lb injectors, step colder NGK.
So it ran great at this point, also changed the intercooler pump.
But i got a check engine light after like 50 miles.
So the tuners said they would check it out and finish the HP tune on it.
Well turns out my plugs had burnt oil, meaning there most likely is blow by causing the plugs to foul.
This is causing engine misfire. It is very minor, and car still runs pretty smooth and well.
Just causes the stupid light to come on.
Luckily the dealership said if i can do a compression test and tell them the numbers for each cyl, they will replace rings.
Anyone have any input on this?? Could it be something else?? I dont think it could be anything else.
The crankcase breather also is making the intake slightlyy more oily than it should, which leads me towards oil return rings.

So today i did a compression test.
I figured if the oil return rings are junk, the compression rings must be too.
Well my readings ranged from 185-195 psi which is great.
I also did an oil/filter change to make sure the dealership didnt put the wrong weight oil in.
anyone know how else my plugs could be getting covered in black burnt oil??? causes cylinder misfires and check engine light. Maybe the issue will dissappear with the correct 5-30 mobile 1

Maybe you might want to add an oil treatment or maybe it's because of the colder plugs.

thanks guys, ya the colder plugs are probably causing the issues. But, with the 60 lb/hr injectors and 15 psi of boost(2.9"), i need them so i dont detonate.
But i guess i could try some slightly hotter plugs and plug the computer in to monitor as i drive. At the moment, there is no knock at all.
Another issue is, i dont think there is anything between normal and 1 step colder plugs

alright guys, i bought a obdII scanner so i can diag away from the tuner.
So here is a snapshot of information when the CEL came on, and the code. I think there is sediment in the fuel rail possibly. Gunna pull it off and try to clean:
P0300 Random Misfire Detected 1/13:
Fuel Sys 1 CL
Fuel Sys 2 NA
Calc Load(%) 34.1
ECT(F) 171
STFT B1(%) 0.0
LIFT B1(%) -4.7
MAP(inHg) 18.9
Eng RPM 1902
Veh Speed(MPH) 40
Spark Adv(o) 25.0
IAT(F) 79
MAF(lb/min) 2.1
TPS(%) 34.1

I would run normal plugs. For the amount of times that you are going to be in full boost as a DD. If you plan on racing change the plugs before the race and then come back to normal plugs for daily use. It is better to detonate a little than to misfire and carbon up your chambers and cause a snowball effect.

it takes a good 50 miles for the light to come back on. and now, my plugs looks pretty clear. Id just hate to get any knock. Maybe ill swap stock plugs and do a pull with the tuner and his computer. We can check for knock throughout the rpm range
