Exclamation Car in Park

Hey guys so today i wasn't paying attention and got my aux cable stuck when i shifted my car into park and wasnt thinking my car was no longer on and i pressed on the brake and move the shifter so i could get the cable back and now my car shifter moves freely without putting it in park. Anyone know what would cause this problem?

Not sure I understand your problem....You don't have to press the brake to pull it out of park or you don't have to press the button to move the shifter....

May just be a fail safe, instead of snapping off the shifter at the base it may just move freely and then re-sets itself.
