Do I need pancakes, or a new heater core?

I've got the maple syrup smell coming from my vents. I was told that if I smelled it from the inside of my car, its the heater core, and if I smell it from the outside, its the radiator. I was just looking for a second opinion and also some tips on how to fix it. Thanks.

Check for coolant leaks...does the heat actually work?

Watch the temp...check the rad level/burp tank etc...

Also, I vote pancakes.

You can't really eat a car.

My temp has never gone above 190. It averages like 184. And my coolant wasn't at the fill line when I bought it. But I've filled it up to the fill line and I keep checking to see if the level has gone down before I drive it. So far so good. And I haven't actually had the heat on. Just the air.

Maybe what you smell is fungi build-up on your A/C core. But that has more of a ballerina little feet smell, not very sweet. Keep an eye on it!!!
