Battery Power / Starting Issue
this is my first post here, thanks to all that reply.
I have an 07 LT that has ran great for 2 years. My wife tried to start it yesterday and nothing happened. I thought it was the battery but it shows 14.4 volts at the terminals, the 50A fuse in the trunk is good, so is the connection at the quick disconnect in the trunk for the smaller wire (10gauge?)
When I turn the key to ACC I am getting some weird readings at the post under the hood, the voltage varies from 8-11 volts then back down to 3-4 and all around.
The needles on my gauges (mph, tach, fuel) are all glitching out. they twitch on, then off, and back for about 15-20 seconds, then they level out at the normal levels, not off as when the key is out, but at zero on the gauge and my fuel guage goes to the correct reading.
I have tested the voltage at the post after the gauges settle down, still jumps all over the place. When I try to start I hear a relay clicking, or maybe even the starter motor pushing out but not turning.
I notice the "alarm" light on the dash will flicker sometimes, but as far as I know I do not have security. My locks and windows are manual, I have no key fob.
If you need any more info I will do my best
