Oil in Air Filter - Help?

I went to check my air filter in my 08 lt and it was soaked in oil and the oil was splattered all in the air box so much it was leaking out. Any ideas of what causes this problem? And should I be worried about my car? also i tried to find a similar thread on here already i couldnt find one, but if there is could you link me to it. Thanks in advanced guys.

Hello Jake55,

It looks like you've already gotten some stellar feedback from the community; if you decided to work with a dealership on this (I understand that for many this is not an option if outside of warranty), please let me know as I'm available to work with you through that process.
