2009 Cobalt Will Not Start

Automatic LT with just shy of 76,000 miles.

Will not start. Clicking from under the hood, starter does not engage. Dash lights flicker, auto door locks lock and unlock and cd player tries to start when key is turned.

After filming the video below, I showed my wife the problem when she got home and I got a "traction service" and a "traction off" message that did not appear on my first two attempts to start the vehicle.

Will need a new starter, might be able to get a silenoid. First make sure ground is clean and power cable is clean.

A low battery will mimic a silenoid too

Sure looks and sounds like a bad battery connection. Even a loose boost post.

My car did this and all it was,was a loose battery clamp. But could be selanoid as well. You could tighten up that clamp(if its loose) and that'll tell ya pretty quick. But its a very good thing its attempting to engage if not you'd have the dreaded ignition switch issue. 31.4 mpg is pretty good, I avg about 25 but I do a lot of city driving too. Good luck.
