About Battery

Went to the local auto store to have my battery tested and its basically shot. No alternator problems. It is the stock AC Delco battery. My car is only 3 years old. I drive a 2009 LS sedan. Is there a warranty on this battery? Also while trying to do research on this I found out that under certain circumstances the DIC displays something called "battery saver mode on" in Cobalts but never once have I ever seen this despite all the issues I've had. I'm afraid to even listen to the radio because the car will need to be jumped if have anything on for as little as 10 or 15 min without the car running. Also are there any recommended upgrades that will help the car over all perform better because of the battery? When I say this mean electrically such as lights being brighter etc? Also why didn't I ever get tht battery saver mode on message on my DIC?

Did you ever put the battery on a charger, alternator alone will not restore a depleted battery. And yes if your Cobalt is still under warranty so is your battery.

I've never placed the battery on a charger. How do you go about doing that? Also my 3 year bumper to bumper is expired but my 100,000 mile power train isn't. Would battery fall into that category?

Then warranty is up on your battery too. Charger is simple enoug,h, + to + - to - and leave overnight. Then try it out for a week and see how it performs. If it fails again you need a new battery.

Okay so any ideas on a new one? Any particular brands that are best. I want something that will give added benefits than having a stock one. For example I plan on having a sound system and already have neons and leds all throughout the car as well as hids. Any particular batteries that are well suited for these applications?

Don't use a Kinetik as a main battery. They don't seem to do as good when it's the main source of power. Get a regular battery and then add the Kinetik to it when you get a lot of electronics as stuff going

If you want an awesome battery for the main source as well get an optima yellow top, red top would work too but yellow is designed for high powered systems and all that

I've been told even for stereos that the red top outperformed the yellow top
