Oil Filter Change - Use The Gasket

This might sound obvious but the first time I changed my oil, there was no gasket on the cap so I decided not to install one (seemed fine). Over the last few months I've been noticing spots under the car. When I changed the oil today, i noticed that it was leaking from the filter cap. So... make sure you use the gasket! I don't know why there wasn't one installed before!

Besides being a seal, I believe it also gives the filter just enough clearance. The filter looked a little... mushed. Like it needed just a little more space. And that space probably comes from the gasket.
