Electrical Problems

Hey all

I have a few issues that all occurred at once yesterday. It's very hard to say if they are related. I wouldn't think so but I find it very coincidental to all happen at once if that is the case.

I went to drive my car and the power steering is out.
First thought. Great I know that part was recalled so I need that fixed.

The very same second the message center beeps at me saying service air bag.

Then I go to clear my windshield.
No wipers!

And then I go to hit defrost for the fear window and then that button doesn't light up.

Lastly the lights in the dash for the alerts: tires pressure air bag. The red and yellow lights I am guessing are very dim because the airbag light is on but I can barely see it. It very dim. But on the other hand my indicator for fog lights and brights are normal.

All of this yesterday.

I really dot know what's up but I am annoyed because the weather is bad where I am and I have no wipers and all this other stuff is just terrible.

My car is a 2010 cobalt lt

47k miles.

Any advice would be great especially because the car dealer said none of it alone is under warranty except the power steering if it is in fact the power steering motor.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you lost one of the ground points came loose or broke off. I believe G101 and it is located under the coolant reservoir. Or it might be G109 it is easier to get at on the drivers side strut tower.

Have you had your battery load tested?

Well if those are good and wiper fuse is good, wipers should work. Power to steering is that 2 wire connector on the corner of the underhood fuse block and it has a 40amp fuse I believe. But with all the symptoms you are having it still looks like a missing ground.

Where are you from? Has the car been recently submerged in flood waters.

Disconnect your battery positive find "P2" on "BCM" disconnect it and re-seat it. Re-connect battery positive and try it. If this works, take "P2" apart again spray clean the contacts and re-connect You should then be good for a while.

Here's the thing. I forgot to add te the buttons on the steering wheel, cruise and info. All the buttons on the wheel light up but don't work. Also my blower turns on and works fine but the dial to switch from vent to feet to defrost doesn't switch anything and the heat itself isn't hot at all
