So I've been getting the same cels pop up usually on drives 30 mins or more, service esc, traction control, then reduced engine power. had my mechanic hook up scan tool and code we got was saying problem with accelerator pedel position sensor. has any one had this same problem? a couple of times after continuing driving after cels went off, engine started to shake loose power and wanting to quit. after turning car off for 15 mins no problem and no cels.this has happened a few times now. anyone elses same problem? info much appreciated!

Sounds like you have an intermittent gas pedal position sensor. Try cleaning contacts or change it.

ok, I'm sure the scan tool told him what was wrong. And that could cause the issues you are having, because that is basically your TPS sensor on your car now, as cobalts are FBW (Fly-by Wire). Change that sensor and call it a day.

yea i was just wanting to know if anyone else has gone through this and that changing the sensor cured the problem? dont know why i always think there is going to be more to it than the one sensor fix with this car, probably cause of the computer and everything tied to it!

---------- Post added at 05:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:55 AM ----------

also, will my car be in limp mode till this is fixed and cell is cleared?

I would agree with Coby7 on that one, new TPS (throttle position sensors) with fly by wire (no physical throttle wire, 2 sensors replaced it for better precision on the TPS). Start by cleaning the 2 inside the module, if code cannot be cleared, replace with new and call it a weeks work.

WOW! That's a bit steep for a pedal sensor...Might have been able to get it cheaper from a local Canadian supplier. Hope you didn't ask for it to be delivered UPS! They'll had 35$ brokerage fee, custom and taxes above that.

You can't just change the TPS on these cars like you can most others. Pretty sure you need to buy the whole throttle body like he did. But yes that was expensive... I got a brand new lsj throttle body for 58 bucks shipped on amazon lol
