Cobalt Shut Off and Won't Start Back Up

I was sitting at a red light car was running fine and then shut off like I stalled it (it is a manual). Battery is fine and when you turn the key the engine makes a single click but doesn't attempt to turn over. I did run through a little bit of water but checked fuses and everything seems to be in order there. Any suggestions or ideas what it could be?

How much gas is in your tank? It could be fuel sending unit, showing that you have gas in the tank, but it's actually empty.

Do you have a warranty?
& do you have oil pressure?

Starter could have gone out..
Alternator..
Main relay
These are things that will allow the car not to start

Did you notice anything else like no dome light? You could have blown the BCM fuse in the trunk or your boost post could have come loose.

I have gas filled up two days ago. Not sure about oil pressure. I'm not the greatest with cars as far as fixing them. Dome light works fine all lights and I get power to everything. Waiting for a tow truck right now taking it to a friends shop to get it fixed. Will let you know what it is. The thing that really sucks is I'm in South Carolina visiting a friend and I have to work in Michigan tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning haha

Don't know if these cars do it but check and make sure you have lots of oil. A lot of fords will not start if oil gets to low. So will 4.3L v6 gmc's

2009 Ford Escape Limited - 3.0L, 6 speed auto, 4x4, 25/33 city/hwy imp mpg.
2017 F150 XLT-XTR - 5.0L, 4x4, 3.55's, E-locker, xtr chrome package, fx4 off-road package.
20/25 imp mpg

Well it started up right as we were about to put it on the tow truck. No rhyme or reason to it. The tow truck driver asked me to try starting so I turned the key a couple times and got the same click every time I tried it and then all of a sudden it started. I went straight to a mechanic and he looked it over for about 45 mins ran diagnostics and couldn't find any reason that it wouldn't start. Maybe I have a weird electrical short that the water got too. Made it back to Michigan at about 1 am today. Car is showing no signs of any problems. I guess it just didnt wanna be towed

Probably a loose ground that some how reconnected. Cars dont just not work then work randomly for no reason.
