Key Stuck in the Ignition

Hey, I'm new to yourcobalt.com and I'm really hoping someone can help me out.

I have a 2006 and have been loving it. Until I couldn't get my key out of the ignition without press the button under the steering column. That problem also brought along the other problem of the shifter being able to move freely without hitting the brakes. I checked the shift assembly and noticed there was a small rod out of place. I figured out where it belonged (from here) and put it back in place.

Unfortunatley that didn't fix either of the issues... any ideas on what it could be? replacement parts? costs?

Another issue is a bought my car used and the power locks on both driver and passenger sides didnt work. I can lock the doors with fob and the doors automatically lock when i get the car in gear but not when i try to use the button on the doors. again ideas? suggestions? replacement parts and costs?

The micro switch that activates the solenoid so you can pull the key out is located right above the pin you replaced in place. Now have to make sure that switch wasn't pushed out of place. Plus pin has to be under the micro switch lever not over.

You probably need to replace your door lock/unlock switches.

For your other problem, can you hear the shifter solenoid when you depress brake pedal?

Did U just buy the car?
