Ignition Pack Bolt Snapped

While torquing them down after checking out the spark plugs, one of the bolts for my ignition pack snapped. I was using the proper in-lbs in torque, but it still popped while down in the hole. For something that far down, can I drill it out or use some sort of easy out? Is the car drivable for the time being?

Try getting a small reverse tap and get it out. Otherwise pull the valve cover and drill/rethread. Should be fine to drive but if you get misfires, don't continue driving it

Ive never done something like that before, but it sounds doable. Not sure if I trust myself enough to do it, but would hate to pay a couple hundred(more/less?) for a shop to do it.

You probably don't need that fourth bolt.

Somebody must have over torqued that sucker at one point.

Remove the coilpack and check how much of the bolt still sticks out. If you have enough to grab it with vicegrips pull it out that way. If not weld a nut to it then undo the bolt.

It's threaded in, you would need a very strong magnet to turn the bolt.

She started up and ran fine, so I went and got a bolt extractor, drilled a small hole in the bolt as best I could, and luckily it came out. Crisis averted!
