Installed New Turn-signal Muli-function Need Assistance

OK, my multi-function would not self cancel after a turn or lane change. It had a broken component inside the multi switch. I installed a new switch, without a manual to follow. It does cancel, but only after a full 90 degree or more turn; anything less than that and no cancel. What do I need to do to correct this?

I really appreciate this forum and I have only broken a few things on my Cobalt so far Thanks to all of you for your assistance in the DIY section and to this posting.

Might have a defective new switch. You can't really go wrong with the installation, unless you didn't snap it into place correctly.

1. Install the multifunction turn signal switch to the steering column. Ensure the locking tabs are snapped
into place.

2. Connect the multifunction turn signal switch harness connector.
3. Install the steering column trim covers.
