Question for All You

I recently installed HIDS, and the second I started my car it took a little longer than usual... By no means did it take forever and keep trying to turn, but it took maybe 1-2 seconds longer to start? Now this may just be a coincidence because I am using a relay and there is no way HIDS can be draining my battery... But the weird part is that it starts perfectly normal after that.

The other night it had the harder start, went to friends house for 2 hours, started it no problems just like normal. Did the same today, started it in the morning harder than usual, left school 30 mins later and it was a normal start..

I also have noticed a slight smell of gas.. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not though. I do remember a recall they put out and said you may smell gas, and I remember getting the letter in the mail but it was easily a year ago... Can't remember what it was exactly for but all I remember is the smell of gas being on the paper.

My car is an 07, and I haven't had to buy a new battery yet... So maybe my battery is just slowly starting to finally die?

Any help is great! I think I am going to take it to my friendly mechanic who all my family goes to... I would take it to chevy too but I really dont feel like paying out the ass just to have them look at it...

I am almost 100% sure it has nothing to do with your hids. I think the recall was on a fuel pump. I know there are threads on here about it. I would message the Chevy customer care person on here. She'll get you all the info you need. If it's a recall you won't have to pay for a new one

Safe, just don't park it indoors. The recall is for a fuel line on top of the tank that's attached to the fuel pump that fails.
