Revs Frequently Stick at Around 5,000 (09 Auto LAP)
I have a 2009 Cobalt LT with an auto transmission, and around 83,000KM.
This is really odd, somewhat random, and occasionally scary. Typically happens on a highway where I'll rev up a little high if I need to. Normally I would do this and the revs would come back down and I can cruise along.
When this happens and it sticks I'll take my foot off the gas and the revs stay at 4,800-5,200 so if I touch the gas pedal it shoots up from there... HARD... Like I just floored it at the top of my gear which is pretty dangerous.
I had my car serviced a week ago, mentioned this issue, but nothing was done about it. The only work done was my request to change a worn timing belt.
What's going on?
