Vibrating like noise from air or heat

OK I know vibrating and rattles are a way of cobalt life, but this is getting annoying. When I turn on the air or heat I hear a vibrating coming from the right side of the dash. It sounds kinda like when you put a card in the spokes of a bicycle, but not so loud. Does anyone know whats making the sound?

Sounds like something in the blower motor. Open your glove box, pull the sides towards the center to pop the glove box stop tabs in to release the full swing of the glove box. Behind the glove box you will see a slot for your cabin air filter (most don't know those are there lol), open that up and pull out your cabin air filter (since most don't know it's there, most will have a NASTY filter). Once out, you will partially be able to see down into your blower motor, just feel around in there to make sure there isn't anything in there, if you need to, grab a flashlight and a small mirror to look around in there. If there is no more debris, turn the fan on and listen, if the sound is still there, it may be the motor bearings itself (means replace the whole motor), if it goes away, then you just had something in the fan that was causing a unbalanced fan section.

**NOTE** do keep in mind that when turning on the fan after messing with the blower motor and filter, it WILL blow stuff out the vents, so make sure your face is NOT in front of one or you may end up with some stuff in your eye or end up eating something you don't want to eat lol ***

Nah, it will more than likely be leaves, mouse home, ect. Because it takes air from the vents by your windshield wiper arms and pulls it through the ducting from the firewall to the filter, through the filter, then into the cabin. There is no possible way anything from the interior can get into there, but it is possible for leaves/ect to get in there.

My 2009 Cobalt Coupe heater motor has no vibrating and rattles, but, with the heat on, it whistles, getting louder with each step up in fan speed, while with the cold air all summer, no matter what the fan speed, no whistles at all??? Checked the cabin filter, clean and white.

Oh I see. I'm sure I need to replace the cabin filter by now so I'll get it all settled once I get one of those

OK, I checked it out and cleared some debris. It still goes on. But I now noticed when I turn to the right it stops. I have to be moving though, so something in there is loose and moving around or something. I can't feel anything in there. So would it be the bearings you talked about?
