Security Lock

I have used search and haven't been successful.

I installed a double din deck recently and ever since I've been having slight starting issues. The only issue is the security lock on the dash. Sometimes it will come on and not let me do anything. Then I wait a bit and it goes away, or it needs me to use my spare key. This has only happened since the deck install and I've tried the things the other threads suggest and nothing, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Opinions? 2006 cobalt lt 2.2

Quick edit:
I had it happen, I left the key turned and opened my door, and all my dash lights came on like normal and it started fine.

You might have connected th GMLan green wire from your OEM radio to something it wasn't suppose to go to.

If you do an internet search on GM PassLock problems you'll see they're problematic. I had a similar problem w/my 06 Colorado truck (PassLock engaging) and you're pretty much "waiting" for 10-min until it resets. Ended up cutting the signal wire that controls system so it literally disables PassLock security. Only drawback, security key's always illuminated. Big plus = saved $900 charge to fix PassLock.

If your spare key work and your usual key has trouble it may be the chip in your usual key is going bad. It happened to me and I had a new key made off my spare key and have not had the security issues since. It worked for me and cost about 30 dollars for the key at the dealer. 2006 cobalt.
