How to Replace Cigarette Lighter Socket in Cobalt

OK....So my cigarette lighter stopped working...
Only used it to charge phone....

Checked fuse and it 's OK even changed it with another 15 AMP
Checked voltage with meter no power...
Assuming it's the socket so I'll buy one there cheap enuf before I disassemble.

Anyone do this / have any instructions?

Thanks,

Yes, I've had it apart but not much can go wrong with on of these. You might have a broken wire or something. The centre consloe piece just snaps out (Pull parking brake lever halfway up). Pull it a way from the dash center, disconnect the connector by pressing on the tab. Lighter socket will remain with top of center console. Socket is jus held in place with tabs. You can also take the wires and connector apart to check for breaks (take a picture first or mark where red and black wires go.
