Car Will Not Start Cause Security Light on

I have been using my spare key to let my car warm up in the morning before leaving for work. I usually do not have problems but lately the car will not start. If I use my regular key it has no problems just only after I use the spare key.
I have an aftermarket remote starter that was causing the same problems with starting my car so I discounted it.
I have replaced the battery before winter and it is keeping the charge to start the car.
Not sure if the spare key is messing with the security system and locking me out.

Any ideas will be great

If it's a non transponder key it will start the car, but security logo will appear. The minute you put it in gear it should shut off. Sometimes it will take 10 minutes to reset so you can start the car with your good key. Make sure key has sign at the base of the key

I looked at my spare and it has not symbol at the bottom of the key but on my normal key there is a faint symbol that is at the bottom and since that is the normal key I use all the time I am assuming that is the correct key to use. Thanks

Yep, your key either (1) isn't a transponder key or (2) hasn't been "mapped" to the car. Either way, take the one "good" key to an auto store/Wal Mart & have them cut replacement...then map to the car per instructions.

You can only use the other cut key to open the trunk and doors. I strongly recommend you not use it in the ignition.

neither one of my keys have those "+" signs on them . They are the keys i got with the car. I bought it certified used. Mine is an 05. I'm not sure the 05, 06 use the transponder keys.
