Popping, Tapping, Knocking

I hear a knocking, tapping, popping like small rocks hitting under cars left side while driving but only every now and then. I thought ball joint or strut or tie rod. I jacked the car up and shook everything while someone turned the wheel slow and fast. I have new tires. I couldn't hear the same knocking. I went for a drive and heard nothing until I drove around the lake on the gravel slowly. Same knocking and then back on the street I heard nothing.

I would appreciate any other ideas that anyone has.

If your endlinks loosen up either on the strut or the sway bar that can make a popping noise.

I don't know what the noise is. It only happens once in a while but not every time I drive it. I'll check it again. Would that also cause the tapping under the floor on the drivers side?

Depends what noise you consider tapping, but I would think not. I can only see it happening if the sway bar fully swings up and even then I dont think it would make contact with the bottom of the floor.

I fixed my problem by changing the hub and the tie rod in left wheel. It didn't take to long and it was easier than I thought it would be.
