Alarm Issue and Starting Issue! Help

I just recently bought a 2005 cobalt off of my boss. 97k miles runs great!

I have 2 issues.

1: Hard starts after fueling. Gas cap issue? However I got it home and took the gas cap off and put it back on and it started right up.

2: Every time I get out of the car and shut the door for more than 30 seconds the alarm sets itself even though I do not hit the lock button on the key fob nor do I manually lock the doors. So if I open the door after 30 seconds (while its still UNLOCKED) the alarm goes off.
So every time I want to leave the car even if its just for 2 minutes I have to lock the car and thats annoying and the alarm should not be arming itself after like 30 seconds.

Anyway to disable the alarm or fix it to where it only arms when I click the lock button or what?

Disable passive arming in your DIC function menu.

Your purge solenoid is stuck open, replace it.

For problem #2, might be same as my 06 LT (faulty door switches). Over time, they get wet and fail. Simple fix = $30 parts from Amazon (Dorman 901-035/driver-side & Dorman 901-125/passenger-side). Takes about 30-minutes to switch them out.

DIC is that little digital display in your instrument cluster. You can enable/disable certain features of your car with the info and enter button.

I figured that out after I thought about it for a minute haha. But I went through every selection and there was no option to enable or disable anything. Only thing it told me was miles, temp, trip, avg mpg, and oil life. I'm looking for the manual but cannot seem to find it.

I figured it out! Thank you so much! Have to push the info and enter button at the same time!
