Service Airbag System

a few weeks ago i got this message and the airbag icon went on and off, then it did it again ad stayed on for a day and now it just stays on. i tried to get a coed but my scan gage doesn't get anything. so are those codes in the body computer? 2 years ago i had to change the ecu but i don't think this is a related issue. outside of taking it to the dealer for diagnosis what might i look for? the car is a 06 auto. thanks

switch under the passenger seat or the connector to it.

i will look for it the message went out today driving home then about half way home it came on again. i did put my weight on the passenger seat and the passenger seat belt icon lit up telling me to buckle up. is that the same switch, or another one. and are you saying that is the most likely place to satr looking for the problem and then go from there?

i went to rock auto to look for that switch but i did not se any reference to a passenger seat airbag switch. so what is that part called anyone know? thanks

Might be good then, sometimes people let stuff roll under the seat and it will partially disconnect.
