2008 2.2 Engine Done!

Finally finished, all I can say is thank you to you guys for your input, the repair shop quoted me at 5800 for a rebuild after questions answered on here and possible fixes I was able to put in the wrench time and do some discovering and repair a little at a time, so long story short lower half of the motor was fine, new head, valves, balance shaft chain, guides, tensioner new timing chain, guides, UPDATED tensioner, water pump(just because I was already in there) new front engine cover gasket, head gasket, exhaust manifold gasket & studs, new thermostat, new intake gasket, new air box (old one had cam cover breather tube broken off by repair shop during the diagnosis) new cam cover gasket new spark plug gasket and seals new plugs, new serpentine belt, can sprockets & cam gear bolts, new crankshaft pulley bolt, new oil filter and oil, fresh dexcool. Got her all back together after triple checking and then checking again all the timing marks and balance chain marks she fired rite up and runs good! Took it for a test drive and it went well, pulled in the ddriveway and CEL lights up, idle starts going erattic and she throws a p0507 code, disconnected the battery let it sit then hooked it back up and still idiling at 1000, from What I'm reading I apparently disrupted the computer when I removed the throttle body to clean it before I started it up, which leads me to my next question, will it reset itself or do I need to do something special to reset it, yes I moved the flap to clean it it was filthy on both sides.........

Congrats, on taking the time to rebuild it yourself. I want to build my LS for later on, but I have never messed with engine internals...

Congratulations. Did it cost you $5800$ lol.

P0507 Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected

Turn the key to on without starting the engine, leave it for a few minutes, turn key off and remove from ignition, then re-insert and start engine. If this doesn't cure it you might have an intake leak.

I put roughly $900 into it but could have done it a little bit cheaper, but a few things I replaced while I had it tore down just because it was easy to get to at that point vs having to move a bunch of stuff later when it failed like the water pump and thermostat and balance chain.
