Problem with My Front Left Speaker

So I just got my dad's 2008 Cobalt and quickly noticed that the left speaker isn't working at all. I've opened up the door panel to see if there was something wrong with the wires but everything looked fine. The speaker appeared intact as well. The speakers (or audio system for that matter) have never been touched before, seeing that my dad bought it new and was happy with the stock speakers. I have no idea what could have happened seeing that it worked when my dad drove it, but when I got it, it decided to die on me. Any suggestions?

Stock speakers do this. They are horrible. Your best bet it to just by new speakers.

Did you remove the speaker from door an inspect it for problems? Both my daughter's front speakers in her 06 were shot and once the replacements were installed...bam = back to life. I'm guessing the other one will soon follow so time for a new set...even better, swap all four. =8^)

my 2008 cobalt stock speakers took turns working, first right went out, then left, came on and off. I finally got new Pioneer speakers, took a short time to put in, well worth new speakers.
