Clicking Noise Recirculation Air

Each time we start our 2009 cobalt, we get this clicking noise around the glove compartment. We noticed that if we press the recirculate botton the noise goes away.
Is this simple to replace?

I've also had this problem for 3 or so years now, it is incredibly annoying. Mine happens with heat and ac even with inside air turned off, but only at the lowest setting. It sounds like a fan blade hitting a wire (unfortunately I know from experience with refrigerator). I have yet to take the dash apart and look into it. If you have time, try looking for a loose wire near a fan or other moving parts.
