Rough Idle
After replacing the battery, spark plugs, coil packs, and ICM I noticed that my car kind of idles funny. I don't believe the RPMs needle bounces either when I feel the car acting weird. I've never taken the throttle body off before to clean it, I've only cleaned it while mounted. Currently there are no codes or lights on. When I replaced the plugs, coil packs, and ICM it did get rid of my misfire code I had. This was about 4,000 miles ago. In a couple of days I'm going to try removing the throttle body to clean it. From what I've read, 2005's have 4 bolts and a wire harness holding the throttle body on so it sounds pretty simple. Is a new gasket needed?

Removed mine last year on a 2006 2.2l to clean it and did not need a new gasket....just assuming the 2005 is the same
good luck and just make sure the key is not in the ignition when you play with the throttle body

And do not spray throttle body cleaner directly into the throttle body. Spray on a rag and wipe the throttle body clean. This way you will not remove butterfly shaft lubricant.

Whoopssssss. No ones ever told me not to spray directly into it. I use to use an old tooth brush and do that

I recommend it. I never reuse any gasket, as once it is crushed by torque it will never line back up the way it was

Not much to clean off but this is an after picture. I think the plate is just stained that color.
