Turned Off by Itself, Now Does Not Recognize Key Fobs
Background: Key replacement program occurred.
Occasionally , after key removed, key cylinder believes key still inserted.. Dealer wanted large amount to replace whole cylinder assembly. Remote Start will not work on days where it 'thinks' the key is still in ignition.. I'm ok with this.
Cold winter day.. Locked doors with remote, auto started it. 5 minutes later, unlocked with remote.. but did not put key in ignition. A couple of minutes later, car stopped running. I thought it was some safety feature. Climbed in, started and drove to work.
Now, neither of my key fobs work.. will not lock/unlock doors or trunk.
Suggestions on first course of action? I'm assuming I should look at all the fuses to see if any are burnt out?
